We have made some catalogues which will be handed out free of charge at the private view. Each one comes in a little packet along with a piece from each of us bound together with thread.
My sound works will also be available for sale. These are a limited edition and also come bound in a handmade case. You can preview the sound works on my soundcloud page. This is a sample of a piece called ‘Running Through The Eye Of An Overhead Projector’. It is an experimental video made by filming with a Canon DSLR through an overhead projector lens. The audio is a mix of edited atmospheric sounds recorded while participants are running. The sound was edited and manipulated using Logic Pro and the composition depends entirely on the action of the runners.
The work explores the notion of being in and experiencing the environment. What we absorb, consciously or not. It references the aesthetic quality of memory and the association we have with sound, colour and light.
Running Through the Eye of an Overhead Projector is a video made using various processes both traditional and contemporary. The audio is composed of a series of recordings made while running. This audio was then manipulated to produce a pitch and tone. The composition depends entirely in the runners activity.
