SubField in the Be Open Sound Portal

Zachary Apo-Tsang and I produced a sound work ‘SubField’ and were selected for the Be Open sound portal. We were also interviewed by BBCR3 so look forward to hearing the programme in the next few months.

SubField presents a sound experience comprised of manipulated field recordings taken from the Parade Ground while the Sound Portal was being constructed. The work represents the physical assemblage of the structure, while building an audio impression of the space. The sounds transgress from an identifiable sonic source to a rhythmic tone, reflecting the unpredictable and unreliable formation of an acoustic memory.

Synesthesia at the Notting Hill Arts Club

“Notting Hill Arts Club is pleased to present SYNESTHESIA* a new visual art and sound series, curated by Curatorial Curiosities – Kate Eleanor Ross. The series aims to create a stimulating cross-sensory environment through the experience of simultaneous exposure to vibrant visual arts and experimental live lab sounds as well as short films and projections.

Introducing the series, SYNESTHESIA I displays specially commissioned large scale ‘Naff Graphic’ Decals by Nicky Carvell and on launch night (3rd June), IKTA Live presents experimental sound play featuring Victoria Trinder and special guests who will produce interactive sound objects with live improvisation on various instruments as well as film and graphics projections.”

Thanks to Rosie Stewart, Zachary Apo-Tsang and Simon West for performing with me. And Kate Ross for curating an excellent evening.
